Designing With Purpose at Menominee Nation High School
When Halle Laverdure of Somerville Architects & Engineers set out to design a culturally resonant, future-ready high school for the Menominee Indian School District, she needed a partner who could turn complex ideas into visual reality. Working with Milliken’s VisionLAB, she brought the school’s story to life through custom flooring that reflects the Menominee Tribe’s values—using wood-look planks, symbolic river and sun motifs, and a striking compass design to guide students through the space.
