SCIENCE WITH INTENTION

Accelerating success for our partners while creating positive impact for people, our communities, and our planet.

ENGINEERING IMPACT FOR EVERYONE

From the molecules we engineer to the systems we optimize, our approach is driven by data, deeply collaborative, and always centered on our customers. That’s how we scale purposeful innovation.
People

Empowering Our Teams

We propel our purpose with deliberate action. Whether we're achieving zero lost-time incidents, protecting data privacy, fostering an inclusive associate community, or contributing over 100,000 volunteer hours, we power our progress with commitment and collaboration.

Products

Designing with purpose. Delivering with impact.

Evaluating every product for impact. Relentlessly reducing the resources we use. Promoting public health. Collaborating across industries to tackle end-of-use head-on. Those are just some of the ways we design for impact. See how we’re doing in our 2025 Sustainability Report.

Planet

Intentionally investing in the well-being of our world

We're setting bold, measurable goals—striving to eliminate environmental violations entirely and to help drive meaningful change—like reducing indexed greenhouse gas emissions and solid waste by 25%, cutting water usage, achieving zero waste to landfill, and scaling our use of renewable energy to 100,000 MWh per year.

Committed to help reduce emissions

By 2030, we aim to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and cut Scope 3 emissions by 30%. We commit to reducing total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 90% and neutralizing the remaining 10%.

Business Conduct

Leading with integrity. Guided by transparency.

Clear governance builds trust. That’s why we outline the roles of our Board and leadership teams, so report readers can see how integrity guides our decisions, how we manage risks and opportunities, and how we measure progress through defined metrics and targets.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does sustainable manufacturing really mean?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency defines sustainable manufacturing as the creation of products through economically sound processes that minimize environmental impact and conserve energy and resources.

We take that definition further. For us, sustainable manufacturing means starting every process with the end in mind. Operating with the intention to reduce impacts on air, water, and landfill. Optimizing energy use and improving how raw materials are converted. And protecting the well-being of our people by operating safe, healthy facilities.

Because when we make every decision with purpose, we aim to ensure manufacturing makes a lasting difference for people, the planet, and the industries we serve.

How has sustainable manufacturing evolved?

Sustainability has always been rooted in the preservation of resources for future generations. Traditionally, it was about minimizing harm by reducing pollution, conserving energy, and managing waste. In manufacturing, these efforts are often focused on compliance and operational efficiency.

But the definition of sustainability has expanded. Today, it’s not just about minimizing negative impact but also maximizing positive outcomes. It’s about designing systems that are resilient and responsible from the start. This shift reflects a deeper understanding: sustainability isn’t a destination; it’s a dynamic process of continuous improvement.

Our approach has evolved alongside this broader transformation. We’ve moved from isolated environmental initiatives to a fully integrated, science-driven strategy. We consider the entire lifecycle of our products. And we prioritize the well-being of people, the strength of our communities, and the health of our planet.

What are the benefits of sustainable manufacturing?

Increasingly, communities, B2B customers, and consumers expect manufacturers to apply sustainable practices to run their operations.
The tangible benefits of sustainable manufacturing include:

  • Reduced operating costs
  • Increased environmental benefit through reduced natural resource consumption
  • Increased conversion and throughput
  • Lower compliance or regulatory costs

The intangible benefits of sustainable manufacturing include:

  • Improved brand recognition and reputation
  • Improved recruitment and retention
  • Capability building

Since publishing our first Sustainability Report in 2018, we’ve used it as a tool to measure progress, share insights, and hold ourselves accountable. Our goals, centered on Planet, Product, People, and Net-Zero, guide our actions through 2025 and beyond. From reducing emissions, waste, and water use, to advancing circularity and protecting associate well-being, we’re building a system of sustainability that scales.

We continue to build on our strong foundation by listening closely to our stakeholders, surfacing valuable insights, and driving continual, measurable progress, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering lost-time incidents.
