TEXTILE COMPOSITES

Layered textile systems engineered for protection and durability across industries

WE LAYER MATERIALS AND MUCH MORE

We build systems where every component counts. Some layers shield against heat. Others reinforce structure, absorb sound, or resist impact. It’s not just what each component does, it’s how they work together that defines performance. The result? Purpose-built composites engineered to exceed expectations.

MILITARY AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Tegris®

Our Tegris® Thermoplastic Composite fabric is built for heavy-duty, high-risk environments. It offers exceptional protection against fragments, projectiles, and blasts while weighing less than traditional thermoplastics and composites. Used in military gear and protective equipment, Tegris® can be pressed into panels or compression molded into shape to withstand rocks, shrapnel, baggage handlers, and more.

3-Layer Turnout Gear System for Firefighters

Our turnout gear system delivers all three layers of PFAS-free* fabric: outer shell, moisture barrier, and thermal liner—from a single U.S.-based source. Milliken Horizon™, Milliken Assure™, and Milliken Equinox™ work together to provide strength retention, flame resistance, moisture management, and comfort—exceeding NFPA 1971-2018 standards without the use of PFAS or halogenated chemistries.

HOW OUR TURNOUT GEAR SYSTEM WORKS

Horizon layer for fire fighter gear

Milliken Horizon™

A PFAS-free, lightweight outer shell that provides industry-leading retention of strength and appearance year after year.
Assure layer for fire fighter gear

Milliken Assure™

A PFAS-free, non-halogenated flame-resistant moisture barrier that exceeds NFPA 1971-2018 requirements.
Equinox layer for fire fighter gear

Milliken Equinox™

A PFAS-free, slick thermal liner that offers superior wicking and moisture management, resulting in quick dry times and high levels of comfort and protection. (available in 2- or 3-layer options)

MATERIALS AND SYSTEMS THAT WORK

Layer by layer, we engineer high-performing systems to meet real-world demands—whether it’s impact resistance, thermal protection, acoustic control, or all of the above. Our composites are built with purpose, tested for performance, and trusted across industries. Your next solution starts here.
“PFAS-free" refers to the absence of intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the formulation and manufacture of Milliken textile fabrics and finishes below 50 ppm of total organic fluorine using combustion ion chromatography or other similar methods. While PFAS chemistries are not deliberately used, trace levels may be present due to background environmental interference or limitations in current analytical detection methods.
